Hollow Body Electric Bass

Full-bodied low end with vintage character

A hollow body electric bass combines the comfort and resonance of a hollow construction with amplified bass performance. It offers a warm, rounded low end that works well for jazz, soul, blues and classic pop, giving players a more acoustic-inspired alternative to traditional solid-body bass guitars. The result is a bass sound with depth, air and a distinctive old-school feel.

Responsive and lightweight

Many players choose a hollow body electric bass for its lighter weight and expressive response. The instrument tends to feel lively under the fingers, especially with softer attack and melodic playing styles. That makes it useful for bassists who want a more open tonal palette, whether comping in a small ensemble or adding texture in the studio.

Ideal for tasteful, musical parts

Rather than chasing maximum punch, a hollow body electric bass shines when warmth, clarity and character matter most. It can sit beautifully in stripped-back arrangements and bring a refined retro edge to live sets. For UK musicians looking for a bass with personality and an unmistakable vintage flavour, the hollow body electric bass is a strong and versatile option.
